Small Businesses

Small business owners face many challenges, and that is especially true in rural areas. As a member of the House Small Business Committee, I am working to focus on the nexus of rural and small businesses because of the increased challenges faced in rural areas. We must get back to doing business in America by cutting red tape and decreasing the burden of striving for the American Dream.

I have introduced the following bill in an effort to bolster America’s small businesses:

H.R. 5265 SBA Rural Performance Report Act: This legislation requires the Small Business Administration (SBA to report on two things):

• Accomplishments from the Memorandum of Understanding they signed with USDA in Apr. 2018 (Exp. Apr. 2023).
• How the SBA is utilizing their Office of Rural Affairs and how the office is helping rural SBs
