Alford Statement on Third Anniversary of the Fall of Kabul, Tragic Killing of 13 U.S. Service Members

KANSAS CITY, Mo.– Today, U.S. Congressman Mark Alford (MO-04) released the following statement on the third anniversary of the fall of Kabul and the tragic killing of 13 U.S. service members during the Biden-Harris administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“Three years ago today, America lost 13 heroic service members in a terrorist bombing at the Kabul Airport, including Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz of Missouri.

“The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan was one of the greatest failures in American history, and Kamala Harris and Joe Biden bear direct responsibility for every second of that disastrous day.

“These brave service members were performing their duty amid the chaos and hell of Joe and Kamala’s failure. They were helping to evacuate American citizens and Afghan allies, and they paid the ultimate price in service for our country. We will never forget their service and sacrifice,”said Congressman Alford.
