Congressman Alford Leads Letter Concerning Biden's Decision to Halt Weapons Shipments to Israel

Washington, DC – On Friday, Congressman Alford (MO-04) led four of his colleagues in a letter to President Biden concerning his recent decision to halt weapons shipments to Israel. The letter specifically says:

“Israel has every right to defend itself and slow rolling weapons to them will hinder their ability to eliminate Hamas. Reports mention that your Administration has not approved the weapons transfer process for the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and Small Diameter Bombs (SDB). The JDAM and SDB are critical and reliable precision weapon systems that enable Israeli operations against Hamas. This is the first time since the October 7th conflict began that your Administration has delayed weapons to Israel.”

The following Representatives have co-signed this letter.

  • Michael Waltz
  • Jack Bergman
  • Ronny Jackson
  • Rich McCormick

Congressman Mark Alford issued the following statement:

“As someone who was recently in Israel, on the border with Gaza, I understand the gravity of the situation. The White House’s decision to halt weapons shipments to Israel is deeply concerning. As Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, seeks to save hostages and eradicate Hamas from the region, America must provide them with any and all resources necessary to finish the mission.

I urge President Biden and Secretary Austin to immediately remove the blockade and resume shipments to Israel. The future of the region depends on it.”
