Jennifer Cassaday of Adrian, Missouri Serves as Witness for House Small Business Committee
Washington,
July 26, 2023
Washington, DC – Earlier today, as first reported by Tribune & Times, Jennifer Cassaday, the President of the Adrian Chamber of Commerce served as a witness in the House Small Business Committee’s hearing. Today’s hearing focused on the obstacles that rural small businesses face. As the owner of Byrd’s Pecan Delights and the President of Adrian’s Chamber of Commerce, Congressman Alford (MO-04) saw her as the perfect fit for this week’s hearing.
Congressman Alford issued the following statement: “It is my distinct pleasure to invite Jennifer to the House Committee on Small Business to share her insights as we discuss a crucial issue to Missouri’s 4th congressional district— small business in rural America. I am proud to have one of our own informing the Committee on how we can help these businesses succeed, no matter their location.”
Jennifer Cassaday Added: “It means a lot to me to have been given this opportunity. I have been overwhelmed to have been asked, but I also feel like I have a responsibility to small businesses all across rural America. I have a huge passion for entrepreneurs to succeed, and it seems like they are giving up and closing their doors in waves here lately. I was raised with a grandparent on both sides running their own business - one owned a restaurant and the others on my mom's side owned our family farm and retail storefront. My husband and I now own our own separate businesses, and I am here representing ours along with a multitude of other small businesses from our town Adrian, MO and the surrounding rural areas.
