Congressman Alford Introduces B-2 to B-21 Cost Analysis Act

Yesterday, Congressman Mark Alford (MO-04) introduced legislation to require the Secretary of Defense to report to Congress on the DoD’s findings of a study on infrastructure used for B-2 aircraft at Whiteman Air Force Base and how it can be reutilized for the arrival of the B-21. The study includes but is not limited to current hangars, fuel storage, and weapons.

Currently, Whiteman Air Force Base is the only B-2 bomber base in the country and second in line to receive the B-21 bomber.

Congressman Mark Alford issued the following statement:

“This legislation will help Congress and the Department of Defense identify how existing B-2 infrastructure, munitions, and other military assets currently at Whiteman Air Force Base can be reutilized for the next generation long range stealth bomber, the B-21. I believe this bill is critical to determine how existing infrastructure and military supplies in our inventory can be repurposed for the B-21. One of my top priorities in Congress is ensuring Whiteman Air Force Base remains the second location to receive the B-21 and I will continue to work with the Air Force to ensure this happens.”
