Congressman Alford Leads Letter to DoD Regarding Navy's Partnership with Drag Queens

As first reported by Fox News, earlier today, Congressman Mark Alford (MO-04) led 7 of his colleagues in a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin concerning the recent reports of the Navy using drag queens as a recruitment tool. The letter specifically asks:

  1. Can you confirm that the Navy appointed Joshua Kelly as the “Digital Ambassador?
  2. If Joshua Kelly is the Navy’s Digital Ambassador, who within the Department of Defense made this decision?
  3. Explain in detail with supporting data how drag shows improve recruitment and readiness?

The letter was co-signed by the following Representatives (7).

 · Jim Banks (IN-03)

 · Ronny Jackson (TX-13)

 · Pat Fallon (TX-04)

 · Jenn Kiggans (VA-02)

 · James Moylan (GU-At Large)

 · Cory Mills (FL-07)

 · Rich McCormick (GA-06)

Congressman Mark Alford issued the following statement:

“We’re at a time where America’s youth has very little desire to serve and protect our nation. The Navy’s decision to use drag queens as a recruitment tool is outrageous and a disgrace to those who have previously served.

Instead of pushing woke ideologies, the Department of Defense should be promoting patriotism, pride in one’s country, and American greatness. We deserve to know why this decision was made and who ultimately made it.”
