Congressman Alford Votes to Refocus Military Mission and Strengthen National Defense with Passage of NDAA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Mark Alford (MO-04), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025. This critical legislation establishes funding levels and sets priorities for the nation’s military and national defense programs.

“As global threats intensify, we need a military laser-focused on lethality, readiness, and strength — not distracted by divisive woke ideologies,” said Congressman Alford. “This year’s NDAA makes smart, strategic investments to counter our adversaries while ensuring the well-being of our servicemembers and their families. From pay raises for our troops to strengthening our position in the Indo-Pacific, this legislation puts America’s security first.”

The FY25 NDAA includes key provisions to enhance national security and support servicemembers, including:

→ 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers, the largest in decades.

→ Expanding National Guard support for Border Patrol operations at the southern border.

→ Eliminating woke DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives and banning taxpayer-funded gender-reassignment treatments.

→ Strengthening defense initiatives in the Indo-Pacific region to deter Chinese aggression.

Additionally, the NDAA secures critical funding for Missouri’s 4th District:

→ Whiteman Air Force Base – Continued funding for the B-2 and B-21 stealth bombers.

→ Fort Leonard Wood – Investments in training infrastructure to ensure mission readiness for our troops.

→ Whiteman Air Force Base and Fort Leonard Wood – A combined total of $139.5 million for fueling facilities and advanced individual training barracks.

“This NDAA reflects the priorities of the hardworking people of Missouri’s 4th District, who value a strong national defense and respect for taxpayer dollars,” added Congressman Alford. “I am proud to support legislation that puts America’s safety and security above all else.”

The FY25 NDAA represents a significant step forward in ensuring that America’s military remains the most lethal and capable force in the world while addressing the needs of those who serve and their families.
