Rep. Alford Statement on First Anniversary of October 7th Terrorist Attack on Israel

RAYMORE, Mo. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mark Alford (MO-04) released the following statement to mark the first anniversary of the vicious terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas, which killed over 1,200 innocent people and was the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. Iran-backed Hamas terrorists took more than 200 people hostage in the attack, including American citizens.
 
“We were sickened by the devastating attack on Israel by the Iran-backed terrorist group Hamas one year ago. These vicious terrorists butchered innocent people, murdering men, women, and children. The horrors are nothing short of heartbreaking. One year later, the people of Israel are still living October 7th every single day. One year later, they are still forced to continue fighting to defend themselves against the many enemies trying to destroy them. One year later, Hamas continues to hold innocent people hostage,” said Congressman Alford.
 
“On this solemn day, we reaffirm America’s commitment to our great ally Israel. We must stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them in this fight and ensure that they have the time, space, and resources needed to wipe out Hamas,” Congressman Alford continued.
 
Last week, Congressman Alford released a video documenting his trip to Israel in April 2024. In the video, Alford gives a firsthand look at the horrific damage from the brutal attack by Hamas terrorists.
 
Congressman Alford plans to return to Israel later this month and hold a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
