Congressman Alford Announces Military Advisory Committee

Washington, DC – Earlier today, as first reported by The Missouri TimesCongressman Alford (MO-04) has established a Military Advisory Committee, organizing the expertise of experienced military advocates to influence the shaping of the annual National Defense Authorization Act. The committee consists of national defense and security professionals from Missouri's Fourth Congressional District, including representatives from Whiteman Air Force Base, Fort Leonard Wood, and the broader Missouri defense community.

The following individuals have been tapped as committee members:

  • Dorsey NewcombExecutive Director - Leonard Wood Institute / Sustainable Ozarks Partnership.
  • Joe DriskillSenior Advisor to Fort Leonard Wood - Leonard Wood Institute / Sustainable Ozarks Partnership.
  • General Frank GrassFormer Chief, National Guard Bureau, and Member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
  • Charles Williams Jr.Former Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations, and Environment).
  • Taylor BurksFormer Navy Lt. Commander, U.S. Navy, and primary opponent.
  • Greg FrenckenPresident, Whiteman Leadership Council.
  • Suzanne TaylorMember, Strategic Deterrent Coalition; Executive Director, Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce.
  • Randy AlewelRetired Missouri Army Guard Brigadier General, Owner of Alewel Meats in Warrensburg.
  • Mark RiselliRetired Colonel, USAF; Former 509th BW Maintenance Group Commander at Whiteman Air Force Base; Current Honeywell employee.
  • Bill Irwin: Former Navy Seal and primary opponent.

 

Congressman Alford issued the following statement:
