Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Congressman Mark Alford’s (MO-04) H.R. 5764, the AI for Main Street Act. This bipartisan bill directs the Small Business Administration (SBA)’s Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) to help small businesses evaluate and adopt artificial intelligence (AI) by providing guidance, training, and outreach. It builds on existing efforts like America’s SBDC AI U program, expanding access to AI support nationwide.

Our AI for Main Street Act will provide small businesses with the resources, education, and training needed to responsibly utilize artificial intelligence. This bill is about empowering people, not replacing them. I’m proud to see the House pass our bipartisan bill to champion small businesses.” Read the full text of the AI for Main Street Act here. ###
