Alford to Host Staff-Led Community Project Funding WorkshopsAlford to Host Staff-Led Community Project Funding Workshops
Washington,
January 14, 2026
Today, Congressman Mark Alford announced Community Project Funding (CPF) Workshops across Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District. These staff-led workshops will help eligible entities better understand the CPF application, approval, and disbursement process. Community Project Funding is a way for Members of Congress to direct federal money to specific local projects in their districts as part of the annual appropriations, or government funding, bills. This gives Members a tool to address real community needs, with the new rules aim to reduce waste and increase transparency compared to the previous earmark process. “Our office is holding these workshops to help educate Fourth District communities on how they can receive critical federal investments through Community Project Funding,” said Congressman Alford. “In our new role one the powerful Appropriations Committee, which oversees the funding the federal government, we’ve already delivered more than $10 million for reasonable local projects with more on the way as we complete our work on fiscal year 2026 bills. Together, we will turn the ‘Show Me State’ into the ‘Grow Me State.’” These workshops will be open to non-profits and local government officials that are eligible for CFPs. Please find more information regarding eligibility here. They will also be open to the media. Any media organizations wanting to cover these workshops should please RSVP here.
