Fentanyl Forum: August 7, 2023 Dear [firstname], We hope this email finds you well. Congressman Mark Alford invites you to attend a critical community event, the Fentanyl Forum.  Given the significant impact of the fentanyl crisis on our community and especially our younger generation, we believe your involvement and insight are of utmost importance. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times more potent than morphine, has been increasingly found crossing our southern border and infiltrating our communities. It's a troubling issue that is affecting families, schools, and communities across the nation, particularly those within our own district. It's not an issue of political affiliations; it's a public health crisis that transcends party lines. The goal of the Fentanyl Forum, set to take place on August 7, 2023 at 7 P.M. at Memorial Station (602 Maurer Parkway, Belton), is to bring together wide range of voices from across our community to understand the depths of this problem and work toward collective solutions. We want to use this event to create an effective, multi-faceted approach that identifies ways to curb the entry of fentanyl into our communities and support those affected by its devastating effects. Congressman Alford strongly believes that every voice matters in this fight against fentanyl.  We encourage you to join us at the Fentanyl Forum to share your thoughts, experiences, and suggestions on how we can tackle this issue together.
