Swearing in as Member of the 118th Congress

U.S. Representative Mark Alford Sworn Into 118th Congress

U.S. Representative Mark Alford today was sworn into the United States House of Representatives on January 7, 2023. Following the commencement of the 118th Congress and after 15 rounds of voting for Speaker of the House, Republicans elected Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House and passed the rules package for the 118th Congress.

“It’s been the honor of my life to have the voters of Missouri’s 4th District ask me to serve as their Representative in the United States Congress,” said Representative Alford. “Now it's time to get to work. In the 118th Congress and under conservative leadership, we will fight to secure our border, fix the broken economy created by the Biden administration, and take our country back.”

Representative Alford represents Missouri’s 4th Congressional District which encompasses 24 Counties in Missouri, extending from the corners of Lebanon, Columbia, and Kansas City.  Alford is a husband, father, former small business owner and former TV news anchor where he spent 25 years anchoring Kansas City’s top morning news show.
